East Coast Stroke is an 12 piece horn based band from the Hagerstown, Maryland area.
East Coast Stroke (ECS) was founded by Kurt Nigh. As a brass player, and long time admirer of horn-based soul, funk, and R&B bands, it was always a desire of his to put one together himself. ECS started back in 2010 as a Tower of Power Tribute band, but has now broadened their repertoire to include a wider range of music. With the addition of vocalists Sheryl Keefauver an Kurkey Mason, ECS is now more Rockin' and Funk Driven than ever!
Be sure to check this site out from time to time for updated photos, merchandise, booking information, appearance dates, band member bios, and recorded selections.
Thank you for taking the time to view ECS’s page. It is the band’s hope and desire to bring an electrifying horn driven sound to more of the public, while at the same time promoting live music to the communities we perform in.
Now working across the Mid-Atlantic region, this group of musicians "cut their teeth" working across the country. Playing in different groups from the 70's until today, they have put together a sound that will excite you today but remains steeped in the sounds of the essence of rock and rolls, blues, R&B and many other genres.
Keep an eye on the site and schedule, we'll be coning to your neighborhood soon. See you there!!
