East Coast Stroke is a 12 piece horn based band from the Hagerstown, Maryland area.
East Coast Stroke (ECS) was founded by the band leader, Kurt Nigh. As a brass player, and long time admirer of horn-based soul, funk, and R&B bands, it was always a desire of his to put one together himself. ECS started back in 2010 as a Tower of Power Tribute band, but has now broadened their repertoire to include a wider range of music. With the addition of vocalists Sheryl Keefauver an Kurkey Mason, ECS is now more soul and funk driven than ever!
Be sure to check this site out from time to time for updated photos, merchandise, booking information, appearance dates, band member bios, and recorded selections.
Thank you for taking the time to view ECS’s page. It is the band’s hope and desire to bring an electrifying horn driven sound to more of the public, while at the same time promoting live music to the communities we perform in.
Performing across the tri-state area, ECS continues to impress audiences with their excellent level of musicianship and huge sound. Playing music of groups from the 60's up to today, they have put together a sound that will excite you now, while remaining steeped in the sounds of bands from the past.
Keep an eye on the site and schedule, we'll be coning to your neighborhood soon. See you there!!
